The
Book Orphanage is an on-line store (mail and phone orders).
We focus on the Mystery genre, but continue to acquire titles in other
fields. It is our intent to bring together owners in need of books
and books in need of owners. We specialize in autographed books,
hard to find and some limited editions that you may not be able to
find at your local chain stores. We are Jeff and Nancy (Her Majesty)
Kreider and our son, Erik (The Web Guy). We are a branch of “Jeff
Kreider, Consultant”. We have been providing on-line sales of First
Edition (signed and unsigned) books since 1995. As we start the new
millennia we offer web page access to our store of books through
this page and ABE Books (See our inventory:
Our name was chosen to impress you with our goal of placing books, new
and used, into good homes. Take a look at our
List of
Residents.
A catalogue is available in a PDF format and we will list a sampling
and some special offers for web visitors. These PDF files are dated
and reflect the current pricing. These files may be updated and the
prices changed from time to time without notice. So be sure you have
the latest edition.
Adoption
Procedures
outline how to adopt any
of these orphaned books.

limited-time pricing.
We have also provided a page of
Author Info
providing photos, signatures and/or bibliographic information that we
have gathered over the years (some not so flattering, but, we’ll try
to improve on that). The signatures were taken from books or
bookplates signed by the author. For the most part, these signatures
were done in our presence so we are fairly confident they are
authentic. Some came in books that we acquired already signed.
Consequently, we can’t testify to the authenticity of them. So, if you
see a signature that doesn’t match what you have seen, please let us
know. Keep in mind, of course, that signatures change. A couple years
ago, I found two books signed by Patricia Cornwell (Postmortem and
Cruel & Unusual) and the signatures were wildly different. The earlier
one was very legible and neat and the older one much more scribbled.
The same is true for Ray Bradbury signatures, and I’m sure there are
others.
Also, if you are an author and are not represented on the pages, feel
free to contact us and we’ll gladly arrange to add you to these pages.
The mailing address of The Book Orphanage is not the store location.
The phone, fax and e-mail are those of the business offices in
Hesperia,
California. Feel free to contact us in writing at the mailing address
or via phone, fax or e-mail at the office. |
